The recent Fallout 4 DLC release of "Contraptions Workshop" is making some players use content assets to commit barbaric acts toward other characters in the game.
Following the Contraptions Workshop DLC reveal at Bethesda's E3 2016 press conference, fans of the post-apocalyptic role playing game began wildly fantasizing about constructing devices and other structures in their settlements.
While some are using it for the betterment of their settlements, others use it for purely entertainment purposes. Their devised contraptions have been put to good use to torture their settlement companions in the open world game.
"Contraptions is named for its ability to combine new items to make actual machines in your settlements. Some are pretty standard, but given the creativity of the Fallout community, it's certain that people are going to use these items in pretty crazy ways," wrote Paul Tassi for Forbes Magazine.
A YouTuber (who calls himself Father), placed non-playable characters (NPCs) such as Preston Garvey and Mama Murphy in pillories and then hitting them with teddy bears at their faces using another constructed devices that continuously throw the stuffed toy projectiles right in front of them.
In Father's uploaded video showing the pillory torture (around 2:00), Father builds pillories and then convinces the NPCs to accept his bidding. They get locked up without resistance. For an indefinite period of time, the teddy bears pile up after hitting their faces countless times.
Of course, Father is not the only one creative enough to make use of the contraptions as torture devices. Another YouTuber who goes by the name of IAGO also gives in to his/her wildish tendencies by building a Rube Goldberg torture machine designed to shoot paintballs at Preston Garvey's rear.
Of course, the videos do not really reflect the YouTubers' real dark side but they can go full-blast with villainous desires with Fallout 4's next expansion "Nuka World." The next DLC will permit fans to unleash their evil side in an old amusement park in the game's wasteland.
