Aspen Dental is giving free dental care for veterans across the country Saturday, June 25.
Almost 400 Aspen Dental locations will provide complete dental services to veterans at no charge.
Aspen Dental wants to thank veterans for their service. In 2015 the company helped almost 5,000 veterans and this year their goal is to serve at least 6,000 of them.
"We treat them as one of our own. We see what kind or dental needs they need. If there's something we can do right here on the spot we do it right here on the spot," said Rebecca Rosser, a dental hygienist at Aspen Dental in Dothan.
"As far as our family goes, and a lot of families, you can't afford to pay for a lot of things up front," explained Sierra Roscoe who, along with her husband, is a veteran. "So it's sometimes difficult. You have to prioritize your dental health versus being able to pay for things that your family needs, and that shouldn't be something you have to do."
The company started in 1964 in Syracuse, New York, as a dental lab called Upstate Dental. In 1981, Upstate Dental merged its lab services with centralized management services to start the new dental practice management concept. The company became Upstate Dental Management, LLC.
The company is owned by Leonard Green & Partners, a private equity company specializing in leveraged buyout transactions, particularly of middle market companies.
