While the movie plot still remains elusive, but it has been reported before that the film crew was spotted in Iceland, filming certain sequences with iceberg props. Meanwhile, there are also reports that The Rock's character in the movie may get his own spin-off once the supposed "Fast & Furious" trilogy is finished. Only recently, a consulting producer disclosed that the they are now looking to have a solo movie committed to Hobbs.

"I've been in the mix with Chris Morgan, the writer, really dialing in the Hobbs character, which is one of our all-time favorite characters," Hiram Garcia said. "We all are interested in it."

"I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see," he continued. "I still think for me personally, we've created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That's my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input."

"Fast and Furious 8" is scheduled to release on April 14, 2017.
