‘Suits’ Season 6 News, Update & Spoilers: Mike Will Have a Hard Time in Prison; Harvey to Protect its Protégé

According to recent reports, Mike (Patrick J Adams) will be "tested more than ever" now that he has been arrested. The show will also add some new characters and will introduce "new interactions, new relationships and new threats." The threats would include Danbury Prison's counselor, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Kevin Miller (Erik Palladino) and Frank Gallo (Paul Schulze), Mike's inmates. Adams calls putting Mike behind bars as "a bold, scary step" that will propel the show in "a brand new direction," the news reported.

Meanwhile, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) will be expected to do whatever it takes to free Mike from the prison and also bring Pearson Specter Litt back on the map. Harvey will realize how his own actions have driven the law firm into the ground, forcing most of its partners and employees to quit the sinking ship. Harvey will also apologize to Louis (Rick Hoffman) and Jessica (Gina Torres).

Needless to say, Mike's sentence will affect his relationship with Rachel (Megan Markle). The couple was almost hitched in season 5 but Mike decided to back off when he learned that he is going to prison. In a news report, it was indicated that Rachel and Mike almost got married in previous season but it was later changed as it would leave a huge morbid weight in season 5 finale.

As far as the other couple on "Suits," Harvey and Donna, are concerned, the fans will have to wait for a while before a romantic relationship develops between these two. According to Rafferty, season 6 will not "dig too much into emotions between [Donna and Harvey]" because they will be busy fixing what is left of their prestigious law firm.

"They're really busy working s-t out, and they're not going to have their confusing relationship status get in the way of their goals," the actress added.

"Suits" Season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, July 12 at 9PM on the USA Network.
