Malala Yousafzai, the Youngest Nobel Peace Prize Winner, and Now Also a Millionaire

According to recent reports, Malala Yousafzai received a whopping £2.3 million (approx. $3 million) from her book, "I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban," that was published back in 2013. Reports indicate that her memoir made the Indie Best Seller list.

Not only is her book making millions, she also gets paid for her appearances and lectures. All her earnings go straight to Malala Fund, the foundation that she setup to help young underprivileged girls with their education. Salarzai Limited is the firm that handles Malala's earnings along with her father, who oversees its management.

Malala Yousafzai gained world media attention when years ago she bravely stood up to Taliban in her hometown in Pakistan. When she demanded her right to education, she was shot by Taliban. Luckily for her, she survived the ordeal to become an inspiration for people around the world. Her story inspired even the First Lady, Michelle Obama, and Beyonce. The 18-year-old teenager worked with these world-famous women to push her cause for women's rights and their education. She is also involved with United Nations.

When she received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for her efforts, she joined the likes of Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela, to share the prestigious honor. Malala has been working actively to uplift the lives of women in not just her home country but other war torn countries too.

Even though she is committed to various groups, she still continues to receive her education at Edgbaston High School in Birmingham, England, where she lives.
