"Game of Thrones" biggest surprise in season 6 was Bella Ramsey, the 12-year-old actress who played Lyanna Mormont. Believe it or not, this is her first acting job and the young star confessed that she didn't expect this reaction from her fans. She adds that ever since her character has been introduced on the show, it has been a "really crazy" ride.
For Bella, it wasn't easy to train for her character and didn't realize the importance it holds for the storyline. However, now Bella understands what she is up for and regards the strong personality of Lyanna Mormont. It is quite interesting to know that Bella couldn't see most of the show because of its adult content. When she got cast, her parents allowed her to watch only "suitable snippets" so that she could prepare for her role.
Sophie Turner (Lady Sansa Stark) sais that Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) outperformed the actors much older than her. She added that the 12-year-old knew her lines better than anyone and was amazing in their first scene together. "She really showed us up because she is amazing and such a delight," said Turner.
Director Miguel Sapochnik revealed that when they filmed another crucial scene for the finale, Bella left the other adult actors just as impressed. "There wasn't a single person in the room who didn't applaud her when the day was over," said Sapochnik.
Now fans wish to see a "Game of Thrones" spinoff for Lyanna Mormont, starring, of course, Bella Ramsey. They believe that there are plenty of stories from House Mormont that will make great episodes.
