Years since his accident, the world awaits the update on Michael Schumacher's health, even though the family has imposed media blackout to protect their privacy. Since then, pretty much all the reports have been treated as speculations, unless confirmed by the Sports star's long time manager, Sabine Kehm.
As Schumacher still battles with his condition and the recovery is uncertain at best, the family has accepted his condition and "learning to deal with it," confirms Kehm. In Kehm's acceptance speech for Schumacher's Lifetime Achievement Award at Nurburgring on May 27, she also revealed that they are still praying for his recovery and wellbeing.
"This award is an acknowledgment of his great willpower, his motivation, his talent, his discipline and his work ethic," Kehm said. "I realize we would all like it if Michael himself could be here, but unfortunately that is not possible. We have to accept it and learn to deal with it. We will continue to hope and do everything so that it will be different again."
No exact status of Schumacher's current health is available for now. The only thing known that the German racer is being treated in a state-of-the-art custom built, high security medical facility in his Lake Geneva mansion in Switzerland. A team of 15 medical specialists are working 24/7 for his care and rehabilitation. The team of professionals is led by Jean-Francois Payen.
Schumacher's family is reportedly struggling to pay the sky-rocketing medical bills that have already amounted to $15 Million, with additional weekly expenses. There are also reports that Corinna, Schumacher's wife, has already sold their private jet and holiday pad to pay for his treatment. Reports say that the reason why Corinna sold these properties is because she has finally come to terms with the fact that Michael will "never fully recover to enjoy them again." Despite the acceptance, family still hopes for Schumacher's recovery.
