Making changes or improvisations to a legend is a risky proposition. 'Batman - A Killing Joke' is an attempt to animate one of the most iconic comics in the history and therefore, fans have a lot of expectations from it. Any visible bottleneck or shortcoming in the animated version could create a lot of turmoil amongst fans, and in no time, the production could be a trolling in social media.
However, the first glimpse of the animated movie seems to settle a lot of nerves down a lot as it is simply magnificent. The first revelation of the movie was done back in April, and since then, it is known that movie would be rated 'R.' Mark Hamill would be lending his voice to the movie. The official clip released by DC All Access has set the red carpet for the movie to be a success. The movie is set to release on August 2, and fans can pre-order as well.
With the release of the official clip, it is extremely difficult for fans to control their excitement till the release of the movie. The clip showcased that there have not been any substantial changes from the graphic model with the exception of the shaky nature of the animation, which made it difficult to keep watching. The animation has got smoother to make it more in line with the graphic version.
The tale of 'Batman - The Killing Joke' is much more than a conventional comic and delves into areas where most other comic tales do not dare to venture. The plot could be a bit disturbing at times, and the excitement looms large as Barbara Gordon would be introduced as the Batgirl. The success of this animated movie could even lead to many other comic stories being converted to animated movies.
The stakes are high - minor flaws in characterization or presentation would be quickly pointed out by fans leading to an emotional rush which could harm the reputation of Warner Bros. However, the 'Batman - A Killing Joke' has all the recipes of being a successful venture.
