The Rock Talks About His Political Ambitions on Good Morning America

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is without doubt one of the greatest stars to have emerged from the WWE in the last twenty years and his status as one of the giants of professional wrestling is already secured due to his stupendous mass appeal among wrestling fans to this day. However, in an appearance on the popular show 'Good Morning America' earlier in the day, The Rock stated that he does indeed have political ambitions and might decide to even run for the Presidency if everything falls into place.

As a report on Yahoo noted, while reporting on The Rock's appearance on 'Good Morning America', "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said Americans may one day be seeing "what 'The Rock' is cooking" in the White House.Johnson, who made that phrase famous in his pro wrestling days, was hit by presidential buzz in March when he shared an article on Twitter that claimed people were "loudly clamoring" for him to run on the GOP ticket." On the issue of his political ambitions, he said, "Well it's very real. The idea of me becoming President one day has become a legit thing to some people. As time goes on, we take the temperature of the American people. If it is an overwhelming, positive, strong 'we want you to run for President', and if I felt that I can step up to the plate and become a tremendous leader and make a real difference and make change, I would do it."

He went on to say, "If it is a very real, overwhelming, positive, strong, 'We want you to run for president,' and if I felt that I can step up to the plate and become a tremendous leader for our country and make a real difference and make change, I would do it," He also dwelled on his TV show 'Ballers', "One of the greatest things for me personally about the character is I've never played a character who is so close to my heart." He further added, "Down in South Florida, I live that life. I know what it's like, and I also know what it's like to transition out of football at a time, much like my character in 'Ballers,' where I wasn't ready to give up football."
