As part of their cross-promotional agreement, UFC released handful of WWE promos during the UFC 200 PPV event in Las Vegas on Saturday night including the video pitch for "WWE 2K17" game and SummerSlam PPV.
The promotional video package showed Brock Lesnar adorning the "WWE 2K17" video game cover slated for an October release with introduction from Chuck Liddell and voice-over narration by Paul Heyman, PW Torch reported.
The WWE promo also included Brock Lesnar's SummerSlam match against Randy Orton on Sunday, August 21 in Brooklyn, New York. UFC pitched the match before Lesnar ascended to the octagon for his comeback fight against Mark Hunt after years in entertainment wrestling.
Lesnar was forced to withdraw from the UFC arena due to health-related constraints. But his remarkable comeback victory to mixed martial arts after defeating Hunt in a unanimous decision throws his long-term relationship with WWE into question.
Meanwhile, the virtual roster for the WWE 2K17 video game is still being fleshed out before its October 14 release. The lineup reportedly includes big names like John Cena, the Ultimate Warrior, Sasha Banks, and Lesnar, Christian Today reported. Also joining the list are Kenny King, Low Ki, TJ Perkins, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte.
On another side note, "WWE 2K17" pre-orders are now available. Fans can now pre-download the latest wrestling simulation game from 2K Sports on Microsoft's Xbox One console with two variants to choose from, FabNewz reported. The "WWE 2K17 Pre-Order Edition" features two playable versions of WCW legend Bill Goldberg. The Digital Deluxe version, on the other hand, entitles players to same benefits but with the addition of a Season Pass.
Last year's "WWE 2K16" was a massive hit so the expectations are quite high for the upcoming title. In another related news, there have been complaints over Amazon's checkout issues when fans try to purchase "WWE 2K16" online this month. The e-Commerce giant has opened up regarding the issue and promised to resolve the problem as soon as possible. However, the company remains tight-lipped when quizzed over the reason for the checkout glitch, Parent Herald reported.
