Production has begun on the twelfth season of 'Supernatural' and if you are wondering what lies ahead in the CW's fantasy horror television series, then you will be glad to know there is loads of thrilling drama and adventure in store.
According to reports, Lucifer will have a prominent presence and his story is still not over. His enemies are chasing him big time. Previously, we saw him going through a series of adventures. He tormented Sam, became Cas' friend and made peace with his estranged father. And at last, found himself siding with the good fight.
At the end of season 11, his fate was unknown as Amara pulled him out of Castiel's body when he went to attack her. Well, spoiler reports claim that the fallen angel is out there somewhere and in the coming season, Cas and Crowley will be seen following him closely. Guilt sits heavy in the heart of Cas and apart from rescuing Sammy, he considers it one of his top priorities to put Luci back behind bars.
After all, it was Cas' low self-esteem that allowed Lucifer to break off his supernatural cuffs. But Cas wants to set things right. Executive producer Robert Singer has also teased about his current state of mind. He said that Cas feels like it his mission to make that right.
As for Crowley, he is seething with revenge as the archangel made the King of Hell his personal slave. It was a huge insult and Crowley is in no mood to forgive. Andrew Dabb, executive producer, has said that he wants payback. It is very personal for him and in such a way that a lot of stuff is not.
As far as Sam and Dean are concerned, season 12 will confirm if the brothers have made it out alive. It will also see the return of their ally and the implications of the return of their mother. She had returned in season 11 as Amara's gift to Sam.
'Supernatural' returns to The CW on Oct. 13, 2016.
