California Bus Crash: 13 Passengers Injured After Driver Loses Control of Vehicle Headed for Eagle Rock and Panorama City

At least 30 people were stuck inside a tour bus after the vehicle spun out of control on a Southland freeway, Monday morning.

13 passengers sustained injuries, and were moved to a medical facility nearby, according representatives from the Los Angeles County Fire Department who spoke with CBS.

The driver of the bus reportedly lost control on a Baldwin Park, Calif. freeway at about 4:37 a.m. The truck was driving near the westbound 10 Freeway and Baldwin Park Boulevard offramp, the California Highway Patrol told CBS.

"The bus tried to get on the ramp to exit, but he come too fast," one rider, Eduardo Magana, told local station KCBS. "He can't control the bus."

The 38 passengers on board were trapped inside the bus for a short period of time immediately after the vehicle barreled over a nearby fence and crashed.

But emergency response teams arrived on the scene quickly, and managed to pry the blocked door free.

Passengers on board were headed to Eagle Rock and Panorama City from the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

It's still unclear why the driver lost control of the bus and what exactly caused the crash, but authorities anticipate more details will surface following further investigation.
