Arsenal ranks No. 3 in the Premier League with an 11-2-3 record for 35 points, on the heels of second-place Manchester City and first-place Liverpool (36 points).
Despite their rank, Arsenal's ability to win the Premier League title came under question after a 6-3 loss almost two weeks ago to City. The pressure is even greater on Monday: a loss would drop Arsenal to fourth place and lift Chelsea in to a tie with Liverpool, according to IB Times.
"At the moment everybody still questions us," Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said, via IB Times. "We haven't won it [the Premier League] for a long time, that's why they question us. It [the possibility of going fourth] adds pressure but you cannot play in the Premier League without pressure.
"There are periods where the pressure is a bit bigger and periods where it is smaller. You have to live with that and resist that kind of stress."
Chelsea, meanwhile, ranks No. 5 in the league with a 10-3-3 record for 33 points. With the possibility of moving into a first-place tie with Liverpool within grasp, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho knows getting three points from Arsenal won't be an easy task.
"To arrive at Christmas time at the top of the league is a sign they are fighting for the title, they have the squad so they have the conditions to do it," said Mourinho. "Up until now they are the strongest team, they have more points than anybody else and they have already played Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United, so the Chelsea game will be the last match against the other contenders."
