Josh Duggar will be looking in through his sisters' spin-off series, "Jill and Jessa: Counting On." He is expected to give an insight into a number of issues leading to the cancelling of his TLC show, "19 Kids and Counting."
Strangely, Duggar is still the target practice of most onlookers, so why is he appearing in the series at all? According to a source, it is because his very appearance would spike the ratings of the TLC Duggar show, no matter what he says. Hence, he would add good grist to the Duggar mill.
The "19 Kids and Counting" show had been called off last May after police records showed that he had been charged with molesting as a teenager five underage girls, four of which were his sisters. It led to the show getting cancelled and also made him resign from the Family Research Council (FRC).
In the next show, he is expected to reveal his sins in "Jill and Jessa: Counting On." But there are a lot of people who do not believe that he will apologise for what he did. As People explains: "Josh will cover everything and he will maintain the family line that god has saved his soul and guided him back to the right path. But one thing you probably won't hear is that he's actually sorry, as he believes that external forces were to blame for his behavior."
It is clear anyway that no one is ready to forgive him---apology or not. Critics are determined to crush him no matter what he says. While his past sins cannot be condoned, his remorse and shame have at least been declared---whether he has felt it or not. "I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him," wrote Duggar.
Although the paragraph does indicate shame and self-flagellation, there does not seem to be any let up in people's disbelief of it, or any acceptance of his self-flagellation.
Last May, he wrote on the family website: "It isn't easy and some days are very difficult. It is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship."
Meanwhile, many sources aver that his appearance in the next show of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" is just a lot of baseless rumours. You can wait and watch as the show is renewed for its second season and is expected to air on TLC this summer.
