Phil Robertson, star of "Duck Dynasty," has finally broken his silence about the controversial comments he made during an interview with GQ magazine for their January issue. The 67-year-old reality star spoke about his views on sin in the interview.
Even though Robertson touched on many different topics including bestiality, promiscuity and adultery it was his remarks on homosexuality that really upset a lot of people.
"Start with homosexuality behavior and just morph out from there," he said when asked about his views on the subject of sin.
"Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men," he said. "Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanders, the swindlers - they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."
Robertson went on to say how he felt a "vagina - as a man - would be more desirable than a man's anus."
Following the comments, A&E immediately suspended the star indefinitely saying in a statement that they "were extremely disappointed" in Robertson's comments and the reality star's personal beliefs did not reflect their views on the LBGT community.
Robertson recently spoke out about the backlash telling the Daily Mail that her refused to retract his comments and was simply quoting the Bible when he said same sex relationships were a sin.
"I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater," he said as he led a small Bible study group at a Louisiana church.
As he brought the study group to a close, Robertson ended it with a prayer: "I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions."
Robertson's entire family has stood behind him and is reportedly considering not returning to "Duck Dynasty" after A&E's suspension of the patriarch.
