Hiroki Ogita, a Japanese pole vaulter, could not qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics because two parts of his body touched the bar when he was vaulting.
First, it was his leg that touched the bar. Even as he tried to clear the 5.3-metre high bar, his leg touched the bar.
The second problem was bigger---his penis. It also hit the bar and toppled it in his very first attempt.
In his second trial, he managed to clear the round, but got disqualified from the Monday finals, as he was the 21st on the list.
His failed attempt was put up on a site called Imgur. The video soon became massively viral, drawing in more than 3.2 million hits.
The crash was a low for Ogita, but things did not end here. A number of wisecracks and comments followed:
Krunchybssehku writes that "As an Asia man this would have never happened to me."
Maybe he was referring to the image of the Asian penis being small?
He followed it with an explanation: "Because I'm too weak to pole vault."

WalkingMurphysLaw says he likes how Ogita pushed the bar away after hitting the athlete's manhood. He adds it's like the sportsman was saying "oh f**k the medal, it's pulling at my d**k." Wyrbear comments, "That's what you get when you play with a pole that's not your own."
