‘The Sims 5’ Release, Rumors and News Update: Is It Releasing Earlier Or Not Happening At All?

Speculations about "The Sims 5" release have been doing the rounds ever since "The Sims 4" released in 2014, but now some fresh rumors have come to the fore, which say that it will be happening earlier than expected.

According to reports, the fifth installment of the game might be released earlier than expected i.e. 2019. However, it is not confirmed as an announcement is yet to be made by the publisher Electronics Art or the developer Maxis. They have not said anything regarding the timeline when "The Sims 5" will hit the market and thus, the positive news is just based on rumors.

In fact, some are also saying that it is not happening at all and there is no assurance if it is being developed. This is because the last installment did not do as well as was expected from it. It recorded a dismal 70 percent in the MetaCritic performance review and according to "The Sims" officials, this is the reason behind the poor sales of the fourth installment.

However, it is not like all is dull and dreary. There are still a good number of players that are playing it every day and these gamers are the very fans who are looking forward to the release of the next installment, a report states. It also says that if the developer brings the game to the Xbox One and PS4 Consoles, it will have more success.

Till now, it is only available on Windows PC and Mac and thus, unable to reach a wide range of players. Also, more and more players play games on consoles and other developers prefer to produce games for consoles. The reason is that consoles are less costly than a high-end computer, which also needs to be upgraded to play the future installments of the game.

It is worth mentioning here that "The Sims" is one of the most popular life-simulation video games series. The first installment released in 2000, followed by "The Sims 2" in 2004, "The Sims 3" in 2009 and "The Sims 4" in 2014. The developer Maxis is known to release the installments after a gap of five years.
