Through all the seasons of "Game of Thrones," fans heard a good deal about Rhaegar Targaryen and the sixth season validated the R+L=J theory, confirming that Jon Snow is his and Lyanna Stark's son. We got a glimpse of a dying Lyanna and a newborn Jon in one episode, but the "Last Dragon" was nowhere to be seen.
Well, looks like the wait is over and the next season might introduce us to Rhaegar, reports claim. The seventh season casting call for a "young lord" in his 20s refers to none other but Rhaegar, son of The Mad King Aerys and brother of Daenerys. The generic description for the casting call specifically says a young lord in his late 20s, who is tall and handsome. It also mentions that the show is looking for a white actor who uses the RP accent and he is scheduled to shoot from Sep. 20.
The specification bears a striking resemblance to Rhaegar's character as he is also described by Martin as "beautiful" in the book. The age description and body type too sound like him and RP is also native to him. Notably, RP accent refers to "Received Pronunciation" and is also known as "The Queen's English." It is the English accent that is often used around King's Landing.
In the meantime, Watchers on the Wall gives complete details about all the casting calls the show has given and the roles that we may get to see in the next season and all of them sound quite interesting. There is a general in the age bracket of 40-55 who uses RP accent, a young gate guard in his 20s who is confident, characterful and talks straight. A respectful old priest in his 60s also features in the list along with a merchant in 40s.
There is demand for a lovely lady too and yes, full nudity is a prerequisite. Last but not the least, there is a tough-looking warrior with excellent fighting skills and non-posh English accent, an athletic and disciplined lieutenant in his 20s and a city guard in his 30s.
