No. 1 Arizona hosts NAU at the McKale Center in Tuscon, Arizona. The Wildcats look to continue their unbeaten streak and add a 13thh win. The task is made more difficult by the unavailability of center Kaleb Tarczewski, who's expected to miss his second straight game with a sprained right ankle, according to ESPN.
"We're going to take it slow. We want to make surer he's at his best for the Pac-12," Arizona coach Sean Miller said, via ESPN. "I have my fingers crossed that in seven to 10 days from now that he's in a much better place. We're really working hard right now to get him back."
The 7-footer is averaging 10.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. The absence of Tarczewski puts more of the offensive burden on the shoulders of junior guard Nick Johnson, who has a team-high 15.7 points per game.
More will be expected of freshman forward Aaron Gordon, who's averaging 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and is coming off a career-best 21 points against Southern. Despite his performance on offense, Gordon wasn't pleased with his lack of rebounds in the contest.
"Scoring is always good but I didn't rebound well enough at all," said Gordon. "I pride myself on rebounding and to have a rebounding performance like that doesn't make me feel like I had a good game."
North Arizona, meanwhile, is in an early hole with a 3-7 record. Senior forward Max Jacobsen leads the team with 14.8 points, and junior forward Gaellan Bewernick has a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game.
