Netflix's "Stranger Things" is certainly one of the best things to have happened this summer. The show gave us a few breakout stars and 12-year-old Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, is also one of them. Her large fanbase has been constantly growing and is all set to get better after her latest Instagram video.
Brown has shared a video of her haircut which shows her long brown locks being chopped off, as part of preparation for her role in the "Stranger Things." The video is so inspirational in nature that one cannot help but marvel at the courage of the young actress, who exudes sense and sensibility, far beyond her age.
The video that she shared on Sunday is quite emotional and has Beyoncé's "Pretty Hurts" as the background track. As the lyrics play out, voicing the advice of a mother who is telling her that what lies on the head is more important than what is inside it, the brave Brown can be seen getting her hair chopped off without any hesitation, defying all norms of feminity. She smiles throughout the session and does not look least worried.
However, it was not all that easy and it took some convincing, not for Brown but for her mother, who was completely against the idea of her daughter getting rid of a prominent symbol of feminine beauty. The actress told Elle magazine that she was not aware that she would need to chop off her hair when the role came her way, but she was game for it when she was told about it.
Still, her mom needed some talk as she was aghast after knowing about it. Thankfully, she did not intervene much and Brown went for the haircut. She told her mother to chill out and reasoned that it would grow back. Her dad was also supportive and said that it is completely fine.
Well, the video depicts quite a breakthrough act and upholds the ideals of women empowerment in quite a subtle and strong manner. Brown gives out a badass message, just like her on-screen badass character.
