It seems that Leslie Jones' problem on racist and misogynistic harassment online won't come to an end soon as the comedian came under fresh attacks from hackers once more.
Nude photographs of Jones, alongside personal information, went online on her website JustLeslie.com. The website was taken down shortly after the hackers' dreadful attacks. No perpetrator has been identified as of yet.
Hackers possibly broke into Jones' iCloud account, from which the files posted on her website reportedly came from, as per Vice News' report. The likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Victoria Justice all fell victim to the same attacks, with their photos leaked by hackers on Reddit and other similar sites back in 2014.
The "Ghostbusters" star, whose career as a comedian for Saturday Night Live helped her earn the role of MTA worker Patty Tolan in the film's all-female remake, has earned the ire of several online trolls who vehemently opposed her involvement in the film.
Jones, being a black woman, became an easy target for vicious online abuse by trolls, many of them having been displeased by her starring role in "Ghostbusters." Nonetheless, the photo and information leak wasn't the first to happen to the comedian.
Just last month, Jones made the decision to deactivate her Twitter account following death threats sent to her by online trolls, with many of them blasting her for her "Ghostbusters" role. Writer Milo Yiannopoulos, notorious for his far-right leanings in his work for Breitbart.com, was permanently banned from Twitter after helping stoke hatred towards her on the microblogging site. He, however, said that he has nothing to do with the latest hack attacks.
Racial slurs against Jones also populated her website, with online trolls comparing her to Harambe, the gorilla who gained notoriety after being shot to death at the Cincinnati Zoo earlier this year. The hackers posted a video of the gorilla on her website, alongside racist remarks on the comedian.
