NY Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Optimistic About Injury, Raymond Felton Out 1 Month, Metta World Peace Undergoing Kobe Bryant Knee Procedure

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is optimistic his ankle injury won't sideline him for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Raymond Felton, meanwhile, is expected to be out for one month with a groin injury, and Metta World Peace is slated to undergo the same knee procedure as Kobe Bryant.

Anthony sprained his left ankle in the third quarter of Monday's 103-98 win over Orlando. While his status for Wednesday is uncertain, Anthony is confident he'll play on Christmas day, the New York Post reports.

"It's on," Anthony said when asked about Wednesday, via The Post. "I still have it. It ain't going nowhere. Hopefully I'll be there. I don't want to miss that game, Christmas at the Garden."

Anthony added: "I'm walking. I caught it before I rolled it all the way, but I rolled it pretty bad. I can walk. I'm (in) a little bit of pain. We'll figure it out (Tuesday)."

The prognosis for Felton is less optimistic. Felton could miss at least a month after hearing a "pop" in his right groin on Monday, according to The Post. Felton, who returned on Monday after missing six games with a strained hamstring, is scheduled to undergo tests on Tuesday.

Felton crumpled to the floor with 3:15 left in regulation against Orlando. He got up and fell back down before standing a second time and limping directly to the locker room.

The injury appeared to happen as Felton reached for the ball with Jameer Nelson pulling on him.

"Very disappointing," Felton told The Post. "Can't catch a break. I'm wishing for the best. I'll get reevaluated. Hopefully they tell me something positive. That's what I'm hoping for right now."

Metta World Peace, meanwhile, revealed he is scheduled to undergo platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy on his left knee. World Peace's procedure, slated for Jan. 6 in New York, was first reported by the New York Daily News.

It's uncertain how long World Peace will be out after the procedure. Because some doctors suggest waiting a couple weeks and others don't, World Peace says he plans to play it day-by-day in consultation with Knicks trainer Roger Hines. The doctor performing the procedure is optimistic for a quick return.

The PRP procedure is the same procedure Bryant underwent twice in Germany.
