NBC announced on Monday that "Grimm" will air its last and final episodes on Season 6.
In April, NBC has announced that the regular 22 episodes per season will be reduced to 13 in Season 6.
The previous season reached an audience viewing of six million per episode - a fall apart as compared to eight and seven million views during the third and fourth seasons, respectively.
The first episode of Grimm's final season will air on Jan. 6.
Season 6 will focus on the conflict between the much loved Grimm Nick Burkhardt and the newly-elected mayor of Portland, Captain Sean Renard.
On the last episode of Season 5, the final scene included these two characters as if a much awaited battle can happen.
There are some questions that seek answers in the final season: How does Renard plan to rule Portland as its new mayor? Will wesens finally come out and be known to everyone under his term? What will Nick do to prevent further killings and conflicts between humans and wesens?
