George RR Martin Justifies Book Delays by Calling it the Longest; Fans Blame GRRM for Attending Too Many Conventions

According to recent reports, each book in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series is thicker than the last. Hence, George RR Martin explains that the book is delayed because the book is the longest. However, the fans think that Martin is wasting his time making public appearances when he could just finish writing the much awaited novel.

Many fans are reportedly losing their interest in the next installment, "The Winds of Winter" due to such a long wait. However, for some fans, the concern is totally different. Even if the sixth book does release in the next few days or months, the last installment will perhaps take seven years or longer to come out. The final book, "A Dream of Spring," will become another long ordeal in wait of the book.

In fact, some fans are also concerned if Martin has it in him to finish the last two books at all. Even though many fans want to know how the book ends, they are also worried about Martin's age and fear that he might pass away before concluding the final book.

Reports also point out that this delay is affecting Martin more than the fans. This interminable long wait may cost him some serious followers who may just move on from the series.

While Martin also expresses his disappointment at his slow pace, he mentioned in his blog that he should perhaps focus more on writing and refuse all the public invitations until the sixth book finishes. However, he is still seen attending all these events, as the fans lay in wait for "The Winds of Winter."
