The Republican frontrunner however pointed out that both leader observed friendly tones during the meeting in Mexico City while avoiding unnecessary argument.
The Washington Post reported that Trump was in a cooperative tone as he faced a world leader who strongly opposes his immigration perspectives; much more, his plans to build a wall along the borders of the U.S. and Mexico.
Trump said they did not discuss who would pay for his proposed wall. Earlier, Trump's camp said the meeting was designated to be a discussion and not negotiation between both countries on who would pay for the border wall between USA and Mexico.
Nevertheless, President Peña Nieto later tweeted that he made clear to Trump that Mexico will not pay for the border wall.
Trump stood firm in his in his supposed immigration policy, promising to deport anyone who enters the U.S. illegally.
"Our message to the world will be this: You cannot obtain legal status or become a citizen of the United States by illegally entering our country," Trump said.
"People will know you can't just smuggle in, hunker down and wait to be legalized. Those days are over."
Trump also reaffirmed his position that Mexico would pay for the border wall between USA and Mexico, hours after the meeting with Mexican president.
"We will build a great wall along the southern border, and Mexico will pay for the wall - 100 percent. They don't know it yet, but they're going to pay for the wall," he said.
