As with all marketing ploys, initial images of new products reveal what is in store for the curious techie fan. It is so with the iPhone 7.
With less than a week to go about the rumored launching, countless observations are already out. Typically, Apple reveals its new phones right on schedule every fall.
Predictably, the company hasn't hinted about next week's activities. However, the symmetry of the date, the iPhone on Sept. 7, is on track to prove the rumors.
Number one on the list focuses on the packaging, which says, "Lightning EarPods." With a new item in place, it is probable that the 3.5mm headphone jack is gone. However, on a closer look, a lightning-to-3.5mm adapter is included in the package. What is even more satisfying is it is actually free. Apparently, Apple does not want to risk losing part of the market that is attached to the headphone jack.
Number two, what is written in the packaging leaflet is too good to be true but the existence of higher storage space may have been confirmed.
The new iPhone 7 Plus is packed with a 256GB memory. It doubles the current 128GB storage for iPhone 6S Plus. For most people, this is definitely a reason to celebrate considering that there will be extra room for photos, games and applications. Before rejoicing further, it is vital that consumers understand why an extensive storage is in place.
This brings to the number three surprise. The new phone variation is armed with 4K filming and features a dual-lens camera. A sophisticated part of the gadget, therefore, merits the accommodation of large files hence the storage is stretched.
Number four is about design, features and specifications. Rear antenna lines are gone. A glossy black finish adds an attractive look to iPhone 7 Plus. This texture is pretty much similar to the current Mac Pro. Next up is what makes the gadget efficient. Apple's new item will have co-processors, the A10 and the M10, for both the 7 and the 7 Plus with a 2GB and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM, respectively.
Leading to the rumored release date, Apple has managed to heighten the excitement months before.
On Aug. 19, Evan Blass, a reliable leaker, has put up images of Urban Armor Gear cases. Since the smart connector is difficult to find, there's no guarantee that the items are for the 7 Plus line.
On Aug. 26, Taiwanese actor and singer Jimmy Lin has posted a picture on the Yeah1 site tapping on his new iPhone. It must be noted that he has done leaks in the past and it all turned out to be true.
For the rumored price, the Chinese domain Weixin shared that the 7 Plus variations with 32GB, 128GB and 256GB will be worth 6,088 yuan (685 pounds), 6,888 yuan (777 pounds) and 7,888 (890 pounds), respectively.
On Aug. 30, the release date may have been confirmed considering that invitations to a conference at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sept. 7 have been sent out. Finally, Apple has reactivated its Twitter account which suggests that live broadcast is in the offing.
