"Everything after Toy Story and The Incredibles is an original right now," announced Pixar animation studio president Jim Morris.Apparently, The Incredibles 3 would not be seen in theaters as there would no longer be any sequel to The Incredibles 2.
Morris dropped this bomb on an interview with Entertainment Weekly wherein he also mentioned that Pixar plans to go original all the way. There are four original films that are set to be released from 2020 onwards - two of which are still untitled but are scheduled for release in March and June 2020
He further explained that "Most studios jump on doing a sequel as soon as they have a successful film, but our business model is a filmmaker model, and we don't make a sequel unless the director of the original film has an idea that they like and are willing to go forward on."
For Pixar, however, as stated in the report of Christian Daily it has only three sequel films left in its timeline which includes the sequel to Brad Bird's award-winning superhero movie, "The Incredibles." After almost two decades of waiting, with its original release in 2004, the audiences are highly-anticipating to see in theaters this upcoming July 2019 its second and sadly, its last sequel as The Incredibles 3 might no longer happen.
Specific details about the plot and the characters in The Incredible 2, however, remains to be under wrapped. Bird, in another interview, he teased the public by saying, "I don't like unwrapping presents before Christmas."Bird further confirmed that work on the sequel is well underway as they are also trying to take it into new directions.
Bird seems to reiterate his statement in Cinema Blend in 2015 in which he stressed the importance of making a feature in The Incredibles 2 a timeless feel rather than going through the similar current of superhero genres that are popular in Hollywood nowadays
So there you have it, there might not be The Incredibles 3 but there are other original films that you can look forward to.
