Sony has so much to offer in terms of technology. After all, this is the company that gave us the PlayStation and various Sony cameras. But why is its smartphone line seem to always lag behind Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy smartphones?
After breaking all techie hearts with the Xperia X, Sony is redeeming itself with its newest flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ. If you think about it, Xperia XZ may be Sony's Xperia Z and X series joining into one series. Does this mean that Sony will no longer be releasing the much awaited Xperia Z6?
Xperia XZ has just been unveiled in the recently concluded IFA in Berlin but as early as now, the newest Xperia is already receiving good reviews.
Xperia XZ has a 5.2 inch with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and beautiful exterior body made from glass, Polycarbonate and Alkaleido (Aluminum alloy).
The newest Xperia is already powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset, Quad-core Kryo processor, Adreno 530 GPU with 3GB RAM. It also has an internal storage of 32GB but expandable up to 200 GB with a microSD.
Sony's newest smartphone also has 2,900 mAh battery, USB Type-C port, stereo speakers and fingerprint sensor at the side (power button).
Unfortunately, the Xperia XZ will not be released with a fingerprint sensor in the US. Without this little feature, buyers may have second thoughts in choosing this over Samsung and Apple smartphones.
The Xperia XZ is certified by Qualcomm Quick charge with smart charging during the night. It is also dust and water proof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes because of its IP68 certification.
But the real deal with the Xperia XZ is its camera and video features. It has a 23 MP Sony IMX300 rear camera with Auto Focus, SteadyShot and 5-axis optical image stabilization and 13 MP front camera. XZ is also already 4K capable in video capturing with 2160p and SteadyShot.
