Kevin Martin looks like to sign-up with the Memphis Grizzlies. The team has yet to sign him up until now, though. Fans of the free agent are on the edge of their seats waiting for his final decision.
According to Gamenguide, Martin is still torn playing between the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. The 33-year-old player hasn't signed for a team yet and the NBA regular season is starting just a month from now.
Earlier reports also said that three major teams including the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls are interested in his services. However, only two teams showed importance to pursuit him: the Knicks and the Grizzlies.
Martin played last season with the San Antonio Spurs averaging 9.3 ppg, 1.1 apg, and 2.0 rpg. His career averages of 17.4 ppg, 1.9 apg and 3.2 rpg which could give a big boost on the offensive end both for the Knicks and Grizzlies.
Beale Street Bears noted that Martin would be the ideal sixth man for the Memphis Grizzlies. His 36.0 percent shooting from 3 and 37.2 percent from the field will be a threat to any teams.
While the Grizzlies lost Lance Stephenson through free agency this summer, Kevin Martin will be the upgraded one. He can be inserted on the second unit and be the offensive facilitator, however he will be more productive if the Grizzlies will play him as an offensive player.
Martin could also be a on a starting line-up for the Grizzlies. Mike Conley, Chandler Parsons and Kevin Martin on the backcourt while Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph as their frontcourt which a formidable line-up for a team. Teams would think twice to double Gasol or Randolph because Conley, Parson and Martin can fire from downtown.
If the Grizzlies decide to sign Martin to offer sheet it would be a valuable addition to their roster and a complete upgrade to their backcourt.
