According to the official Pokémon GO site, the update about Pokémon GO Plus reveals that this wearable add-on is more useful than thought before. The first time this wearable Bluetooth device was announced, Pokémon GO Plus was supposed to help players stay on top of their game, without keeping their app open. The capability of this device was considered to be rather limited, when in reality it could do a lot more.
Some players who received their device ahead of its official launch revealed that Pokémon GO Plus can actually track walking distance for Buddy Pokémon and unhatched eggs. This little revelation made $34.99 device all the more exciting for the players. With the Pokémon GO Plus accessory, the players can sync their device to their phones, allowing the game to run in the background. In fact, when your smartphone is locked, "Pokémon GO" notifications will display on the screen and can be read by players, without the need to unlock their phones.
With the help of this device, the players will be able to save a lot of battery on their phones, which was an issue earlier. The battery saving aspect of the bracelet is a big plus for a lot of "Pokémon GO" trainers.
Despite its usefulness, there are a few limitations with "Pokémon GO" that fans may or may not be able to live with. For instance, the device will only throw normal Poké Balls. The inability to throw Ultra Poké Balls at a rare Pokémon can annoy some of the trainers. Moreover, the device will not work with a Pokémon drawn by incense.
"Pokémon GO" is a popular augmented reality game playable on smartphones and has already surpassed 500 million downloads all over the world. There is also report that the players have walked a total of 4.6 billion kilometers, as recorded by the game app, which is roughly the distance between Earth and Pluto, revealed Niantic CEO Hanke at Apple Event on September 7.
