The scaled down version of Moto G4 and G4 Plus, the Moto G4 Play, is a five inch mobile with same design and software as that of its larger counterparts.
According to PC Mag, Motorola Moto G4 Play is equipped with the following specifications and performance as compared to its larger counterparts.
Processor - Moto G4 play is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with a processing speed of 1.2GHz and Moto G4/G4 plus is powered with Snapdragon 617 processor. When compared for overall performance between G4 and R1 HD, Moto Play scored 28647 in AnTuTu test lower than R1 HD. A 2 gigabytes of RAM is sufficient to handle few amount of multitasking.
Battery - Moto G4 Play when undergone with battery life test with full brightness and fullscreen video streaming over LTE, it lasted up to 7 hours and 50 minutes which quite better than Moto G4 which lasts up to 6 hours and 1 minute.
Design - Weighing 4.8 ounces Moto G4 play comes with same gray and black combination as that of G4/G4 plus. Play measures 5.7 inch x 2.8 inch and its higher mate measure 6.0 inch x 3 inch and R1 HD 5.6 inch x 2.8 inch weighing 4.8 ounces and 5 ounces respectively. Power button and volume button at right and micro USB charging port at the bottom and micro SD card slot, sim slot and 2800mAh removable battery can be inserted when the back cover is peeled off.
Display - Play has5 inch 1280X720 IPS display with resolution of 294ppi, whereas G4 has 401ppi resolution designates a good quality display.
Camera - Play has 8Mega pixel camera with AutoExposure feature to manage contrast between shadows and sunlight well. The Play is also capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera takes clear pictures which enables to take selfies.
Software - Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes inside 4G4 Play with new Motorola ID settings.
Network - The Play is compatible with all four major US carriers such as GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz),CDMA(850/1900MHz), HSDPA(850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz), and LTE (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/25/26/41) bands.
