Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is likely playing in the final game of his collegiate career. He completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 3,523 yards, 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions - a performance that makes him the projected first signal caller off the draft board in April.
Although Bridgewater struggled down the stretch of the regular season, Hurricanes coach Al Golden knows his defense is in for a test against the Miami native.
"This is a very talented young man. He has great command on the offense," Golden said, via ESPN. "... He has speed, good corps of receivers, knows how to distribute the football, doesn't make many mistakes with the football, can move in the pocket. It's going to be a great challenge for our corners and safeties."
Louisville (11-1) lost its only game of the season on Oct. 18 against UCF. The Cardinals then strung a five-game winning streak together to close out the regular season.
Miami (9-3), meanwhile, lost three straight games before winning its last two of the regular season. If Miami wins on Saturday, the program will have its first season with double-digit wins since 2003, according to ESPN.
"Our kids are excited, I think they're grateful," said Golden. "They've been through a lot the past two years, and they have not been able to have this opportunity. ... They're practicing with a purpose, they're excited, and clearly they have a really tough opponent coming up."
