As Clash of Champions 2016 is set to stage this weekend at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana and live at WWE Network, it seems that WWE fans are looking far ahead already. Earlier reports said that a possible reunion of The Shield at Survivor Series this November is being set up by WWE productions.
Four days ago, rumors encircled that the trio of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins are in talks with WWE management about the potential get-together. However, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is still mum about this as he is trying to concentrate on other businesses such as the possible purchase of TNA Wrestling.
According to Sportsrageous, the reunion can only be done through the big four PPVs since Reigns and Rollins are in the stable of Raw while Ambrose represents Smackdown. The report also says that although The Shield had a mini-reunion of sorts in a Triple Threat Match at Battleground last July, still the fans are craving to have them back in the WWE ring to renew their ties that gave them the break to become WWE superstars.
We also got a peek of The Shield reunion last year during Payback when they triple power bombed Randy Orton but in the end, Rollins was beaten by Ambrose and Reigns due to the conflict they have when Rollins betrayed them way back then.
However one thing is holding back this gathering. Dean Ambrose recently attacked John Cena at Smackdown Live and got booed by fans for what he did. This happened after Ambrose lost his WWE World Championship to A.J. Styles.
Yibada English later reported that the WWE management is turning Ambrose into a heel for what he did to Cena. That is why WWE is very cautious to place The Lunatic in a match for now.
However, the reunion of The Shield is very enticing even though they've already part ways from some time now. Nevertheless, the reunion is still uncertain so perhaps it is best to wait until the Survivor Series to see if the bonding will definitely come true.
