SpaceX is currently being scrutinized due to the recent explosion that had just happened a few weeks ago. Despite the odds, Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX is still very confident that his company will be successful in landing the first men in Mars in the next decade or so.
Musk said in an interview with Y Combinator, "I'm certain that success is one of the possible outcomes for establishing a self-sustaining Mars colony, a growing Mars colony." The optimistic executive even says that putting "a meaningful number of people" in the next 9 or 10 years is highly plausible.
During a tech event in Hong Kong, Musk inspired people on the reality of humanity, "Do we want a future where we are forever confined to one planet until some eventual extinction event, however far in the future that might occur? Or do we want to become a multi-fantasy species and then ultimately be out there among the stars, and be among many planets, many star systems? I think the latter is a far more exciting and inspiring future than the former."
The Future of Humanity Lies With SpaceX and Elon Musk
This shows that Musk's ambitions for SpaceX are not just limited to reaching Mars. He even says in a tweet last Friday that the heavy duty Mars Colonial Transporter of SpaceX is currently under development and will be very helpful in transporting people and resources to Mars.
All of these things sound possible; however because of the recent tragedy that destroyed the recent SpaceX space rocket, the company is still grounded until further investigations clear them out.
Whichever the case may be, if Elon Musk persist his more than optimistic personality for the betterment of humanity with regards to space exploration, then everything would surely be wonderful.
