'Scandal' Season 6, Spoilers: Fitz and Olivia to beat Cyrus? George Newbern indicates Mellie's victory?

While there is a lot of time in the premiere of "Scandal," Season 6, a fair number of speculations and spoilers are circulating around and it looks like Fitz and Olivia will come together to win the elections. Also, George Newbern aka Charlie has signaled at Mellie's win.

"Scandal" Season 6 will take off when the presidential elections results are announced and ABC's political drama will not see a silent exit of Fitz, reports suggest. The outgoing president might help Olivia and Mellie to win the elections and defeat Cyrus. Mellie is following Olivia's plan and she has no idea that Cyrus is also contesting as stated in previous reports. She is oblivious to this fact and therefore, going ahead with Jake as her running mate, confident that she will win the elections.

Mellie is not aware that Cyrus has created a formidable opposition for her and he knows a lot. It was he who made Frankie a name to reckon with and the latter became a household name. He has made a lot of powerful connection as a result of working with Fitz and wields strong clout on the people who matter. However, he will be caught unawares as he would not be able to fathom Olivia' plan.

In case, Fitz decides to lend a helping hand to his ex-lover, twists are sure to take everyone by surprise and there are high chances that it will take place, claims reports. George Newbern, who plays Charlie, has indicated that Mellie could win the elections in Season 6 "Scandal." At a pre-party ceremony for Emmy Awards, the actor said that show creator Shonda Rhimes intends to depict a true story in the show; one that reflects the on-going election in the USA.

Talking about Mellie, he said that she would definitely bring a lot of different elements to being president, just like Hillary Clinton (the real presidential candidate in the on-going elections). He also expressed admiration for Mellie's working style and said that he likes the way she lets things go their way and does not appear to care. He thinks that she has a real sort of sassy, realistic thing and exudes a highly accessible vibe.

"Scandal" Season 6 is expected to premiere midseason in 2017.
