New Yorkers Run in Marathon Supporting Boston Victims

Thousands of New Yorkers came together to show their support for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings in Central Park.

The four mile run called "Run for the Parks" was already scheduled before the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday that killed three and injured scores.

Organizers sold "I Run for Boston" T-shirts with proceeds going to the One Fund Boston, the official fund for those affected by the bombing. The London event was the first major race since the twin bombings in Boston.

More than 6,000 runners finished the race.

Other "Run for Boston" events have taken place around the U.S. and the world.

Sunday's London Marathon started with tributes to the Boston victims with a moment of silence.
