ABC'c anthology TV series "American Crime" brings another Emmy-award winner to its cast, Cherry Jones for Season 3.
According to Variety's exclusive report, "24" veteran Cherry Jones joins "American Crime" with a recurring role together with the returning regular cast members Regina King, Felicity Huffman, Connor Jessup, Lili Taylor, and Timothy Hutton. Benito Martinez will be returning as well for a greater role.
In 2009, Jones won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her character in an American TV series "24," a show produced by Fox Network. In 1995 revival of "The Heiress" she also won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play and the same award for 2005 original production of "Doubt." The actress was also a five-time Tony Award nominee for her "Broadway" role.
A couple of days ago, it was reported that Regina King (Jones co-star in "American Crime") received an Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category for her role in "American Crime" as Terri Lacroix. The actress said she was proud of the said show which promotes "necessary conversation".
Meanwhile, during an interview with the "American Crime" executive producer John Ridley, he told that latest season of the show will focus on "labor issues, economic divides, and individual rights."
"American Crime" casts and story change for each season. Season 3 will be set in North Carolina where it emphasizes LGBT rights and "our greater complicity." The production was initially shot in Los Angeles which already started last Monday.
Despite the slight drop in the ratings of the previous installment which ended last March, ABC network decided to release another run of the Primetime Emmy Award- winning TV show.
Detective drama series "American Crime" Season 3 will be released on 2017.
