The Western Conference Champs for the past two seasons, Golden State Warriors, announced on Tuesday the restructuring of their front office. The team's current General Manager Bob Myers added the title of President of Basketball Operations to his duties.
Before Bob Myers became the General Manager in 2012, the Warriors is just another good team. Then he added key pieces to the roster, which includes drafting Draymond Green, Festus Ezeli and Harrison Barnes on that same year.
He is also the main reason why they got Andre Igoudala in 2013. It was also his decision to hire Steve Kerr as head coach in 2014. And as we know, the Warriors become a great team when Kerr arrives. They earn two NBA Finals trips in the past two seasons and won one.
According to a report of Tim Kawakami of Mercury News, the details of the contract is unknown. But the salary is believe to be at the top rank of NBA executive salaries.
An article in the official website of the NBA said that Myers will still remain his role as the Golden State Warriors' General Manager. He will report to owner and CEO Joe Lacob while running all the basketball operations for the franchise.
Other key promotions in the Warriors front office includes: Travis Schlenk as Vice President of Basketball Operations (already an assistant General Manager); Kirk Lacob as Vice President of GSW Sports Ventures (already an assistant General Manager); and Larry Harris as the Assistant General Manager (already a director of player personnel)
As the 71st NBA season draws closer, the Golden State Warriors is a clear favorite to win the NBA Championship. Thanks to the addition of NBA superstar Kevin Durant. With Kevin Durant, Stephen Currry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green as their main players, they are now the new super team in the NBA this coming season. Given the overwhelming talent that they have and with the restructuring of their front office, can the Golden State win another NBA Championship this coming season?
