Arizona Woman, Connie Villa, Kills Daughter, Drugs Three Children, And Stabs Ex-Husband On Christmas

A 35-year-old Arizona woman was arrested after allegedly killing her daughter, stabbing her ex-husband, and trying to poison the rest of her children on Christmas, the New York Daily News reported.

According to authorities, Connie Villa made all four of her children, ages 13, 8, 5, and 3, to swallow prescription drugs. Her oldest child, Aniarael Macias, died during the incident.

After attacking her children, Villa then reportedly lured her ex-husband, Adam Villa, to their Casa Grande home and began stabbing him multiple times in the torso.

Police arrived to the frightening scene soon after the ex-husband was able to escape and call for help as he drove himself to the hospital. Once officers arrived, they saw Aniarael dead on the bathroom floor and witnessed the mother turning the knife on herself as her three children were near her side.

Though Connie Villa was initially taken to the hospital for self-inflicted stab wounds, she was later charged with first-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder.

The rest of the children survived without stabbing injuries though lab tests showed opiates in their systems. An official cause of death has not been announced for the oldest child.

The family released a statement remembered Aniarael as a gentle, kind and beautiful spirit who was taken from us much too soon. Ania was always smiling, she loved her brothers and sister. We pray that justice will be served."

All three children are in the care of Adam Villa's family as he remains in the hospital to be treated.
