'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story': What to expect from the much-awaited spinoff?

After the success of Star Wars VII The Force Awakens, The Star Wars Saga continues as they add more films to add to the story. Now, for casual Star Wars fans, Star Wars Rogue One is not the continuation or The Force Awakens. This is actually what happens in between Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars IV A New Hope.

As we remember Star Wars IV A New Hope, Princess Leia was kidnapped by Darth Vader knowing that she stole the plans from the Empire on making a weapon strong enough to destroy planets, The Death Star. Basing from the trailer and according to IMDb, the Rebellion takes the said risk.

The trailer introduces us to very new faces. Darth Vader also shows up in the trailer and Saw Gerrera, a character more known in some of the animated series and the Lego series as well.

Star Wars Rogue One will be featuring Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Medelsohn, Alan Tudyk and many more.

For deep fans, many are aware on how the story will be told, but then again the canon story has completely been revamped because of Star Wars VII The Force Awakens. One assumption that can be made is that Rogue One may be a completely new fresh story that strays away from what most fans think it would be. So far what is new and considered to be canon in story is Star Wars VII The Force Awakens, Star Wars Rebels (animated series), the new comics and much more. Rogue One is no exemption.

As most Star Wars fans know, 2017 will be the year of Star Wars Episode VIII and more movies in between to fill in the gaps of the story line. Rogue One is going to be the first movie to do such in this new canon lore.

Star Wars Rogue One is expected to show in theatres at December 15, 2016
