Luce Tedesco, an Italian developer posted an image on his Twitter showing a black iPhone 7 that has been hacked. It shows that Cydia 1.1.26 is already installed on the device although Cupertino said that the lates iOS 10 update can prevent jailbreaks.
While the developer was able to successfully hack the smartphone, the jailbreak details were not yet revealed. There is also no confirmation on what technique did he use to hack the iPhone 7.
There are rumors saying that a group of jailbreaking groups from China has been working on an iOS jailbreak tools. However, no jailbreaking team has claimed that they already have a tool that can help the users to jailbreak the iOS 10, The Bit Bag reported.
Jailbreaking iOS is like rooting an Android device. It allows the user to do some tweaks or install apps that is not allowed by an operating system.
On the other hand, Apple is expected to always patch the operating system's weaknesses that let a hacker jailbreak the phone. It is said however that jailbreak is not necessary for the iPhone 7 as Apple has created apps for iOS that are inspired by jailbreak apps as reported by BGR.
The iOS 10.0.1 update is not as big as the previous version (the latest only 25MB to 60MB), and it is all bug and security fix for the operating system which includes:
- Fix for the issues that prevents recognizing "Hey Siri" request
- Fix for the issues that affects the audio quality for calls through VoLTE
- Fix for the issues that could affect Bluetooth connection between the phone and Apple Watch
- Improves the stability of Contacts apps and Camera
It is also said the jailbroken iPhone is more vulnerable to malwares. Some users who still opt to jailbreak their iPhones probably know how to keep their phones away from iOS malwares.
Moreover, Tedescos's jailbroken iPhone 7 looks legit but it seems he is going to use the tool for personal use only. But since the iOS 10 has been hacked, it clearly tells that jailbreaking tool is just around the corner.
