Controversial Victoria Mayor to host Royal family visit
Lisa Helps, Victoria mayor, has refused to pledge allegiance to the Queen in 2014 as she was sworn into office. But now, she is set to host the royal family's tour this weekend in Victoria.
She said during the time of her oath to office that her main goal was to help the people of Victoria and not Queen Elizabeth. She mentioned in an interview there was no irony in the situation since this is simply her duty as the mayor of the capital city.
Milestones for royal children
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are with their young children Prince George and Princess Charlotte in an official visit to Canada. The family just arrived in Victoria Sunday. This is Princess Charlotte's first official international tour while this is Prince George's second trip abroad. His first one was in Australia.
