Netflix Removes Almost 100 Classics From Library: Top Five Movies To Watch Before They Expire

Classic movies like "Titanic" and "Top Gun" will be removed from Netflix beginning Wednesday according to an anonymous post on a Reddit thread, and after being looked into, it seems the list is true, CNN reported.

Other fan favorites like "50 First Dates" and "Braveheart" are also on the list of almost 100 different movies and television shows being removed from Netflix's library, a seemingly regular act the online streaming website usually indulges in, CNN reported.

For Netflix's 40 million streaming subscribers will be out of look if any of their favorites are on the list, but those on the mailing list can still order the movies in the mail, CNN reported.

A Netflix spokesperson said the adding and deleting of movies and shows are due to licensing contracts and are a routine occurrence, CNN reported, but this list seems to include too many fan favorites that are shocking streamers who are rushing to watch them before they expire.

Though the spokesperson said seasons five through eight of "Dexter" would be added in early 2014, it doesn't make up for all the heart-wrenching favorites that are soon to leave viewers.

Netflix does not usually release a statement with films that are set to expire, though they should especially if the lists of movies set to expire are filled with classics like this one.

So before the changes take effect on New Years day, here is a list of the top five movies (five because you only have one day before they expire, so I figure I would narrow it down for you) that are set to expire that you have to watch (they are in no particular order but by my own favorites):

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

"Do the Right Thing"

"Flashdance"

"Roman Holiday"

"Up In Smoke"
