As the divorce proceedings between Hollywood's power couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are in full swing, the couple seem to be at odds about who will keep the children. Jolie has requested custody of all six with visitation rights to Pitt. Since all the six children involved in the battle are minors, only 15-year-old Maddox is old enough to take the stand and voice his custody preference as per California Laws. However, since couples usually don't prefer their young children to take the stand in court, matters of custody are best handled by respective lawyers in private, possibly the route that Pitt-Jolie may take.
With the custody battle underway, Jolie has reportedly blocked Pitt's phone number and the actor has not seen his children in over a week. According to an insider, Pitt is completely shocked and devastated by divorce news. He never expected Jolie to do such a thing. Though Angelina had threatened divorce in the past, he never thought that she would actually go ahead and take the step this time.
In her divorce, Jolie has requested for sole custody of her children Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10) and Knox and Vivienne (8). Pitt will only be given visitation rights, if Jolie were to have her way. However, now that the actor has his own divorce lawyer, Lance Spiegel, rumor has it that the actor will challenge his wife's battle for custody.
Ever since Jolie made the announcement about their divorce, the actor has not met any of his six children. In fact, Pitt is currently facing charges of child abuse and is being investigated by FBI. In an incident, Pitt reportedly got very drunk and shouted at Maddox before he hit him, while he was in the middle of an argument with his wife Jolie.
