It's a sad news for Heat fans today. As much as two-time NBA champ, Chris Bosh, wanted to play for the Miami Heat training camp, his physical tests failed him. There were reportedly blood clotting issues once again.
Miami Heat president, Pat Riley, announced on Monday that the organization is no longer working on Bosh's possible return as they believe that the All-Star forward's career with the Heat is over.
According to Sun-Sentinel, Riley said, "I think Chris is still open-minded. But we are not working toward his return. We feel that, based on the last exam, that his Heat career is probably over." And when asked about the future of Bosh's NBA career, Riley said, "It's up to him."
It was in February 2015 that Chris Bosh, 32, was ruled out for the rest of the season after a blood clot was found on one of his lungs. He was hospitalized for several days to a Miami hospital as he was undergoing lung tests during that year's All-Star break. He then recovered and came back to court to play later that year.
Last season, although he was chosen to play in the Three-point contest and 2016 NBA All-Star, he had to withdrew both event, because a blood clot has once again formed in his leg.
"It's pretty definitive from us, in our standpoint, that this is probably going to be a time where we really have to step back," Heat president, Pat Riley, added.
Heat head coach, Erik Spoelstra, has also shared his sentiments about Bosh's condition and said, "I love C.B. dearly. It was tough to watch C.B. and his family go through this the last couple of years. Your heart just goes out to him."
ESPN reported that Bosh has spoken on Friday, in a videotaped segment, about his condition. "Just because the journey has ups and downs doesn't mean I will stop sharing with you guys. So I will just continue to share despite what's going on."
He also posted on Twitter, telling his fans that he will continue striving despite the setbacks.
After Bosh's failed physical, fans will once again miss him on the court this upcoming season. However, they are surely hopeful that the All-Star will be coming back and prove that he still has what it takes to be one of the greatest NBA stars, no matter where his team will be.
