Boston College (7-5) had its four-game winning streak snapped on Nov. 30 in a loss to Syracuse. The story of the season for the Eagles has been senior running back Andre Williams, the Heisman finalist who rushed for 2,102 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Williams struggled in the Syracuse game, though, and racked up only 29 rushing yards in the 34-31 loss. He suffered an undisclosed injury during the third quarter but is expected to play on Tuesday, ESPN reports.
Although his low numbers against Syracuse may have affected his numbers in the Heisman polls, Williams was more concerned about the team's winning streak ending against the Orange.
"The only opportunity we really missed is being able to get that eighth win against Syracuse," Williams said, via ESPN. "I really wasn't worried about Heisman polls."
A win on Tuesday would give Boston College an eight-win season and mark a drastic turnaround from last year's 2-10 finish.
"We're excited to be playing in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl," Eagles coach Steve Addazio said. "Our players are excited and can't wait to get started. It's a good challenge for our team and it will be a thrilling game."
Arizona (7-5) is also looking to end the season with eight wins. The Wildcats dropped three of their last four games, including a 58-21 rout on Nov. 30 by Arizona State. Like Boston College, Arizona's offense is powered by a talented halfback.
Junior running back Ka'Deem Carey rushed for 1,716 yards and 17 touchdowns, becoming Arizona's all-time leading rusher and the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year.
