Brad Pitt cancelled his first public appearance at the LA premiere of his latest film project, "Voyage of Time: The IMAX Experience", post his break up with the Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie to focus on his "family situation."
The actor, in a statement, has said he will not be attending the event for documentary, which took place at the California Science Centre Imax Theatre in Los Angeles, as he did not want to divert attention away from the film.
"I'm very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I'm currently focused on my family situation and don't want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see," Brad Pitt said.
Brad Pitt is also one of the producers of the film directed by Terrence Malick, which is an exploration into our planetary past and a pursuit of humanity's place in future.
The actor set the rumor mills running since Angelina applied for divorce after he allegedly entered a relationship with his co-star French actress Marion Cotillard.
However, Marion refused any role in the couple's breakup. She is reportedly pregnant with her long-term French boyfriend Guillaume Canet.
The firebrand couple Brangelina split last week after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The duo got married in 2014 after years of courtship. Brad Pitt is yet to respond to the divorce plea.
Angelina is seeking sole custody of the couple's six children - Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10), and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie's lawyer Robert Offer said the actress had filed for the dissolution of the marriage "for the health of the family".
Voyage of time is slated to hit the screens in November this year.
