LSU (9-3) finished the regular season with two straight wins, including a 31-27 victory over Arkansas on Nov. 29. The win came with the loss of senior quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Anthony Jennings will start on Wednesday in Mettenberger's stead. The freshman saw limited playing time this season, throwing for just 99 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of production this season came against Arkansas, when he stepped in for the injured Mettenberger and passed for 76 yards and one score.

Despite Jennings inexperience, LSU coach Les Miles is confident Jennings can successfully helm the Tigers' offense.

"The good news is that the quarterback has been preparing all along," Miles told the school website, via ESPN. "We're not in a position that we have to change a lot. We will run our offense just the way it is. That will benefit him because that is what he has been doing the entire year anyways."

Jennings also has the benefit of relying on the team's strong rushing attack. Sophomore running back Jeremy Hill is averaging 6.8 yards per carry for 1,185 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.

Iowa (8-4) also has a strong running game behind junior halfback Mark Weisman, who has 938 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Aside from being able to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, Weisman is excited for the chance to conclude the season with a trophy.

"It's a great opportunity for us. We had a pretty good regular season and we want to finish strong with a good game against a good opponent," said Weisman. "You get to play a very good team, that's what you want in college football. You want to play good competition in a bowl game."

The Hawkeyes finished the regular season with three straight wins, including a 38-17 win on Nov. 29 against Nebraska.
