While many people can't imagine going more than a day or two without their Starbucks fix, one devoted Seattle super fan made a pledge to eat every meal of the day at the chain for an entire year, the Daily Mail reports, and it may surprise you to learn how much she spent.
The Seattle, Wash. woman, legally named Beautiful Existence, announced and explained plans on her blog in January 2013 to embark on a year-long Starbucks-only diet.
"So how can eating only one company's products impact me, anybody?," she wrote. "Well Mr. McDonald's already proved that question years ago with his documentary and Mr. Subway did his take on the loosing weight portion of the food challenges too. But when I watched those guys doing their thing I asked myself 'where are the WOMEN challenging themselves in the world?''Where are the effects being shown on a woman's culture? A woman's family & children? A woman's diet, weight, fashion, checkbook, community and world through challenges?'"
The mother-of-two and PhD student spent close to $700 a month eating out at Starbucks every day of 2013, including holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, and was committed to trying every single meal the chain had to offer.
"I focused on Starbucks as they are a Pacific Northwest brand and this is my home - I am proud of what we produce for the world," she wrote. "I am fearless and wanted to explore new things in my life - I love to test the water and each time I challenge myself, I learn a lot. During the year there's not been anything I have really hated, with a limited menu you learn not to be a picky eater pretty quick. But there's only a few days left before I get to eat what I want again, needless to say I'm very excited."
A typical daily menu cost Existence around $20 a day, including breakfast items like oatmeal and fruit, paninis and salads for lunch and dinner, cookies and bakery treats for dessert and of course, a daily dose of caffeine.
