By now many "The Mentalist" fans have heard Brianna Brown ("Devious Maids") will be guest starring on the show.
The "Devious Maids" actress tweeted about her guest appearance on Dec. 27.
TVLine previously reported Brown will star as a woman named Krystal Markham. She is connected to the case Jane will be working on and - to make the episode* especially interesting - Jane will ask her on a date.
According to TVLine, Markham is the first lady Jane has asked out in quite a while.
Thanks to a preview of the Jan. 5 episode in which Brown makes her guest spot, we can finally see Jane and Krystal interact. There should be no surprise as you watch Jane bust out the charm which causes Krystal to smile.
According to the preview, Lisbon will also join the FBI in a more official capacity.
Speaking of Lisbon, according to EW.com, she will soon be getting a romantic interest on the show. Unfortunately for some fans, the romantic interest's name is not Patrick Jane. Lisbon's boyfriend will appear in either episode 15 or 16.
Show creator Bruno Heller told the website a "new side" of the Jane/Lisbon relationship will surface in "Golden Hammer" - the Jan. 12 episode. However the show isn't quite ready to make the two more than friends.
"That's an arc that we're going to be watching develop through the back end of this season," Heller told EW.com. "Now that Red John is gone, both Jane and Lisbon are sort of psychically free to wake up and look around and what they see when they wake up from that nightmare is each other.
"And how that relationship develops and how they sort of start working out who they are to each other is a big part of how the rest of this season unfolds."
"The Mentalist" returns Sunday, Jan. 5 at 10/9c on CBS.
